Tucked strategically in downtown Austin, two blocks from the Texas Capital and three blocks from the University of Texas, Palazzo Lavaca has become a hub for the community to gather, celebrate, educate, and learn. Whether you're hosting a party, a wedding, a conference, a state dinner, a think tank or a popup market, we invite you to make our space entirely yours for the evening.
Most of the saddles for Sears and Roebucks were made during this period along with rumors of a speakeasy and brothel during the depression. This building has seen it all! Songs have been written by country stars about the bootmaker Charlie Dunn. The stories, the characters, the love and the wild Texas spirit still are felt by all who enter.
After extensive travels to Europe and in particular Venice, Italy, the building was transformed into Palazzo Lavaca in 2008 by owner Giselle Koy. It now provides a unique backdrop for stylish weddings, corporate events, and photo shoots. Paired with our exceptional service, guests can enjoy five distinct spaces within the venue: an open-air courtyard, an elegant Violet Flame Bar, a Grand Ballroom, a stately Great Room and a media lounge. There are also separate bride and groom changing
